MZURI – MORE THAN JUST BENEFITS

MZURI – MORE THAN JUST BENEFITS

Mzuri Pro-Til enables you to drill directly into the stubble after harvesting any pre-crop. It tills deep narrow strips of soil in one pass to apply fertilisers and drill seeds to a precisely controlled strip depth. Seeds are placed in moist, properly aerated soil with good structure. The favourable air and water conditions help roots to emerge in a fast and uniform manner, and then whole plants to grow intensively.

Decreased fuel consumption

The Mzuri Pro-Til technology involves tilling (loosening rather than turning) only narrow strips of soil, which reduces soil resistance and fuel consumption during work. Crop residue remains on the surface of uncultivated strips (inter-rows), protecting the soil from loss of water and organic matter. This also leads to increasing the activity of biological life like earthworms in the soil, loosening it, improving its structure and reducing its compactness. Consequently, the average fuel consumption of the Mzuri Pro-Til technology is approximately 15 L/ha!

Reduction of costs and working time

Low fuel consumption means low costs. One pass with the implement to till soil, apply fertilisers (in strips, accurately under the root system of the crop to be grown) and drill seeds significantly reduces working time and prevents piling up of the workload in peak periods. Optimal seed drill dates can be met regardless of weather conditions. Reduced costs and time increase farm efficiency and profitability.

Sustainable environmental impact

The Mzuri Pro-Til technology exerts a sustainable effect on the environment. The elimination of soil turning (ploughing) and intensive tillage, as well as decreased fuel consumption, reduce CO2 and N2O emissions. Stubble and a large amount of plant residue on the soil surface protect the soil from excessive water evaporation, loss of structure, soil crust-over, erosion due to water and wind, surface scouring, and have a positive effect on the biological activity of soil fauna.

Improvement of soil structure

Multiple passes with machinery for conventional tillage degrade soil structure. The surface crusts over while the deeper layers are hyper-compacted in the form of so-called plough pan. This disrupts air-water conditions, oxygen is lacking, and biological life ceases. These conditions hinder plant emergence, root growth and nutrient uptake.

Increasing yields

The Mzuri Pro-Til technology creates great conditions for plants to quickly and evenly emerge, allowing them to show their genetic potential. Placing fertilisers in tilled strips of soil, adjacently to the roots, provides plants with easy and constant access to nutrients. All this plus favourable air and water conditions throughout the growing season contributes to obtaining high yields of high quality plants.
